Know all about BSc. HHA - The National Council of Hotel Management( NCHM) and IGNOU jointly offers a three year undergraduate degree programme of BSc. Hospitality and Hotel Administration (BSc. HHA). BSc Hospitality and Hotel Administration programme is of three years duration and its course curriculum is such that candidates get to learn required skills, knowledge as well as practical training to ace any task allocated to them in the hospitality industry.

This course is offered at all the IHMs, jointly by IGNOU and the National Council for Hotel Management (NCHM). This three year programme provides students with the in-depth knowledge,skills, and standards students need to acquire in the operational areas of Food & Beverages Service, Food and Production, Front Office Operation and Accommodation Operation. The admission in BSc. HHA is mostly offered on the basis of the performance of the candidate in NCHM JEE , a national-level hotel management entrance exam.

BSc. HHA - Eligibility Criteria

In order to get admission into the BSc. HHA course there is a specific set of eligibility criteria that must be fulfilled by the candidate.

  • The foremost basic requirement is that you must have cleared NCHMCT JEE 2022 for admission in BSc. HHA at the top-level IHM’s in the country.

  • The upper age limit is 25 years for General/OBC candidates, while it is 28 years for SC/ST candidates as on July 1st 2022. The SC/ST candidates have an upper age limit relaxation of 3 years.

  • The minimum qualification for admission is the 10+2 system of Senior Secondary examination or its equivalent with English as a compulsory subject. Candidates must have studied and passed English as a core/elective/functional subject in the examination they qualify.

  • As per the eligibility criteria of NCHMCT JEE, students who are appearing in 10+2 or equivalent examinations are also eligible to take admission on a provisional basis. Provisional admission will stand canceled if proof of having passed the qualifying examination is not confirmed at the time of NCHM JEE counseling.

  • Admission will be subjected to verification of original certificates or documents at the time of admission. Decision of NCHMCT regarding the eligibility will be final.

What are the specializations in BSc. HHA?

There are two courses offered namely - BSc. HHA (Generic) and BSc. HHA (Specialization). The syllabus is the same for the first three semesters. However in the fourth semester students who opt for specialization will be bestowed upon with their choice based on the merit and the score they attain in the first two semesters. The specializations are in the following:

Food Production Management

Accommodation Management

This course under one of the specializations by IHM admission to Bsc. in Hospitality and Hotel Administration enumerates areas of coordination between housekeeping and other departments. Furthermore you will be able to draw up a step by step action plan for the organization of the functions of the HKD ensuring efficient, effective and economic operations. National Testing Agency (NTA) will release the NCHM JEE 2022 admit card in online mode tentatively in the first week of June 2022 on the official website, nchmjee.nta.nic.in. Visit the official website of NCHM JEE, nchmjeenta.nic.in. Click on the ‘NCHM JEE 2022 admit card’ tab. Enter your application number and date of birth. NCHMCT JEE 2022 admit card will appear on the screen. Download the admit card and take multiple printouts of the same for future reference. Keep an eye on the official website for the latest information.

So, in response to your question. NCHMCT (National Center for Health Metrics and Technology ( NATIONAL COUNCIL FOR HOTEL MANAGEMENT AND CATERING TECHNOLOGY). The examination must be completed in the month of May. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, it has been postponed till June 18th, 2022. The admission cards are expected to be released in May. They did not however, they will release them. They will create an account for you on their official website. Please keep yourself up to date.
