About NCHM JEE 2019

NCHM JEE is a national level exam conducted once a year by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to undergraduate courses in hospitality. Earlier it was conducted by National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology(NCHMT). Students can fill NCHM JEE online application form from January 15, 2019 onwards. The exam will be conducted on computer based mode on April 27, 2019.  Candidates giving NCHM JEE 2019 can take admission in two undergraduate courses - B.Sc. in Hospitality & Hotel Administration(Generic or Specialization). NCHMT, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Tourism, regulates admission to professional courses that are offered at the affiliated 21 Central Institutes of Hotel Management, 20 Private Institutes of Hotel Management, 21 State Government Institutes of Hotel Management and a Public Sector Undertaking.

It is the sole responsibility of the candidate to check his/her eligibility for NCHM JEE 2019:

  • Qualifying Examination - Pass in Senior Secondary Examination (10+2) or its equivalent with English as a subject of study (core/elective/functional). Qualifying examination should be conducted by any recognised central or state board such as Central Board of Secondary Education and Council for Indian School Certificate. Qualifying examination could also be from any board or university in India or foreign country recognized by the Association of Indian Universities. Candidates who will appear for the qualifying exam in 2019 can also apply under provisional basis.
  • Age Limit - For students applying under General and OBC categories, the upper age limit is 25 years as on the year of the admission. In the case of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe, the upper age limit is 28 years as on the year of admission. Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board Certificate shall be used to determine the age of the candidate.

The application form for NCHM JEE 2019 is available from January 15  and the last date for submission of form is March 15, while payment of fees through debit and credit card is March 16, 2019. Candidates must fill the online form and pay a registration fee of Rs 800 (General and OBC) and Rs 400 for SC/ST/PwD/Transgender. 

  • Details filled by the candidate like his/her name, father and mother's name, date of birth should match the one in the documents furnished by him/her. 
  • If no category is selected by the candidate, quota will apply. Category once selected by the candidate cannot be changed. If a student belongs to two categories, he/she should check both of the boxes.
  • If the student has not given the qualifying exam, he/she should check the 'APPEARING' box
  • Candidate should upload an unattested recent photograph of himself/herself with a white background. Students should remember that all the information provided by them will be verified during counselling. 

NCHM JEE 2019 is a written examination of 3 hours which can be given in Hindi or English. NCHM JEE 2019 consists of 200 multiple choice questions in the below subjects:

                                                                                                                                                                    Each correct answer under 1,2,3 and 4 subject carries four marks while for every incorrect answer 1 mark will be deducted. 

Candidates who have filled the application form can download the Admit card of NCHM JEE 2019 from NCHMTC website from April 3, 2019. Admit card of NCHM JEE 2019 will not be sent through the post. One copy of self-attested NCHM admit card must be deposited with the invigilator for his/her signature and be furnished during the counselling. A second copy of NCHM admit card must be presented during the written examination. All the details of the NCHM card must be verified by the student and discrepancy, if any, should be immediately brought to the notice of JEE Cell by emailing at [email protected]

Candidates who have given NCHM JEE 2019 can check the result of the written examination on the NCHMTC website. The result of NCHM JEE 2019 will be made available by May 15, 2019. Qualified candidates can check the score obtained by visiting the council's website, clicking on the 'Result' tab and entering login credentials like roll number, application number, date of birth and security pin.

Selection of the candidate will be based on his/her rank i.e. marks scored by the candidate in the NCHM JEE 2019 compared to other candidates in the same category. Cut off for each category of NCHM 2019, which is opening and closing ranks for participating institutes, will be announced by NTA on their website. Candidates can check previous year cut off to get an idea about the closing ranks for each participating college.

Mode of Counselling: Online, Offline

Three rounds of counselling will be conducted by the National Testing Agency for NCHM JEE 2019. NTA has allocated All India Ranks to the qualifying candidates based on the marks scored in the written examination. The counselling process of NCHME JEE 2019 will tentatively begin in the last week of May 2019 and be done on merit basis i.e. rank of the candidate in his/her category.  Candidates will have to register online by paying a non-refundable fee of Rs 1000 and giving their choice of colleges for the first two rounds. On the day of counselling, candidate will get the opportunity to opt for a college available to him/her according to his/her rank and pay the tuition fee for the first semester. Eligibility of the candidate along with the documents furnished by him/her will also be checked. Seats in the participating college will be offered on the basis of student's AIR, category, choice of the institute and availability of seat in those institutes. The result of NCHM JEE 2019 seat allotment will be declared online on the official website.
