    The course of Diploma in Food and Beverage service is a popular career choice among candidates looking to acquire general knowledge in hotel and hospitality administration. It is offered at various central and state government affiliated institutes of IHM’s. It is also offered at food and craft institutes. Infact, The National Council for Hotel Management (NCHM) offers five kinds of diplomas to cater to the needs of students for jobs in the hospitality industry immediately on completion. The eligibility criteria is basically 10+2 from a recognized board and in case the entrance test is conducted that varies from institute to institute. The average tuition fee for the intake by most of the institutes in India ranges between INR 50,000 to 1 lacs. The average salary for food and beverage management diploma holders ranges between INR 15,000 to 50,000 per month depending on the years of experience and the job positions.

    Eligibility Criteria- Diploma in Food & Beverage Service

    • Candidates must have passed 10+2 or senior secondary or equivalent examination with English as a compulsory subject.

    • Age of the candidate must not be more than 25 years in case of General/OBC/PH/Open candidates.

    • SC/ST have relaxation upto the age of 28 years

    Admission Process

    • Though the admission to diploma in Food and Beverage Service is merit based but entrance test may also be conducted which varies from institute to institute.

    • The date of birth which is recorded in the secondary education board / pre-university certificate is the only authentic proof that will be accepted by the institutes accepting admission. At the time of interview, it is necessary to produce this certificate in original as proof of age failing which the candidate will not be considered for admission.

    • A personal interview is conducted to determine a candidate's interactive ability and intellectual of general awareness. The marks obtained by candidates are summed with the marks obtained in the qualifying examination to finalise the selection list. Candidates who are finally selected for admission will be intimated on the same day.

    • Admission will be on a first come first serve basis.

    • Candidates who are applying for admission will have to submit a physical fitness certificate validated from a registered medical practitioner. This is as per the prescribed format given in the information brochure.
