in india doing culinary arts or hotel management which is better ? i' m chef kiran ,Technical Demonstration Bulk Galley at the culinary Academy of india .I have worked both in cruise lines and hotels , and now i am into training I feel can give some good insights into the above question . choosing between culinary arts and hotels management in india depends on your goals, career aspirations and interests ,as both fields offer distinct career opportunities with many similar challenges . primary focus in culinary arts courses is on cooking , food preparation ,and the creative aspects of food & cuisine . if one has passion passion for cooking , experimenting with flavours ,and presenting food artistically ,then he/she has to go for a degree or diploma in culinary in culinary arts ,this fields allows for creativity and innovation ,with career paths leading to roles such as chef ,pastry chef or food stylist. The culinary industry is also experiencing growth in coming to hotel management courses they encompasses a broader scope that includes operations management, customer service , marketing ,and event planning within the hospitality sector and more of Accommodation operation , restaurant & bar operation ,etc in the hotel industry .if you are interested in managing teams , ensuring guest satisfaction and overseeing hotel operation , pursuing a degree / diploma in hotel management would help .This field offer diverse career opportunities including food & Beverage manager, hotel operation manager , hotel manager ,event coordinator ,or sales manager within hospitality organizations. in conclusion I would say if your primary interest lies in food , cooking and food presentation , culinary arts may be more suitable . conversely ,if you perfer a managerial role within hotel /hospitality industry with varied responsibilities beyond just food ,then hotel management might be the better option . consider your personal interest and long - term career goals when making this decision . one caution to all aspirants who are keen to get into the hotels & food industry don't get confused as many sites on internet say that Hotel management colleges also offer culinary careers. No its not both are different and both give different careers ...BE CAREFUL..
Hello,
With an XL score of 251 and a general category rank of 12,030, your options for PhD admissions depend on the specific IIT/IIM cutoffs and the department you're targeting.
1. IIMs & Top IITs: Admission to the top IIMs (like IIM Ahmedabad, Bangalore, or Calcutta) for PhD/FPM programs is difficult with this rank, but some newer IIMs or IITs may consider your application based on research interests and profile.
2. Mid-Tier IITs & IIITs: IITs like IIT Hyderabad, IIT Roorkee, or IIT Guwahati, and some IIITs may offer PhD opportunities, especially if you have a strong research background.
3. Private & Central Universities: Institutes like Ashoka University, Shiv Nadar University, and JNU offer research-focused PhD programs where XL score matters less compared to research potential.
4. Foreign Universities: If your goal is research, you can also consider international PhD programs where XL scores are not mandatory but publications and research proposals are key.
