NTA Data Shows Surge in NCHM JEE Candidates, but Government Seats Outnumber Private Seats

National Testing Agency will conduct the NCHM JEE 2026 exam for admissions into the hotel management programmes of participating institutes. The NCHM JEE applications 2026 will open tentatively in December 2025. The NTA data shows a surge in the number of candidates appearing in NCHM JEE. But the seat matrix of NCHM JEE participating institutes also provides some interesting numbers and insights about the level of competition in the NCHM JEE exam.

NTA conducts the NCHM JEE exam online. After declaring the NCHM JEE result, it shares the scores with the National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology, which conducts the NCHM JEE counselling process for admissions into the hotel management programmes of participating colleges.

Number of Applications in NCHM JEE

The table below shows the number of candidates appearing for NCHM JEE for the last two years, 2024 and 2025. The data shows that the number of candidates appearing for NCHM JEE has gone up by 24.8%. This increase points to a rising student interest in the hospitality industry and tough competition in the NCHM JEE exam.

How Many Seats in NCHM JEE?

While the increase in the number of candidates is significant, the seat intake of participating institutes also shows interesting figures. The data shows that the government seats in NCHM JEE are almost four times the number of private seats in NCHM JEE. Candidates have a higher probability of landing a seat in a government college.

The central government seats have a 55.10% share in the total seats, and the state government seats form 25.70% of the seats in NCHM JEE. The remaining 19.29 seats are private seats.

According to the information in the NCHM-JEE Exam , you are not required to attempt all questions . The exam consists of 200 questions , and you can attempt as many questions as you like within the given time limit of 3 hours . There is no limit on the number of questions you can attempt from each section.

National Testing Agency (NTA) will release the NCHM JEE 2022 admit card in online mode tentatively in the first week of June 2022 on the official website, nchmjee.nta.nic.in. Visit the official website of NCHM JEE, nchmjeenta.nic.in. Click on the ‘NCHM JEE 2022 admit card’ tab. Enter your application number and date of birth. NCHMCT JEE 2022 admit card will appear on the screen. Download the admit card and take multiple printouts of the same for future reference. Keep an eye on the official website for the latest information.
