    Panjab University has notified the revised PUTHAT 2026 dates. The PUTHAT 2026 application form has been extended till May 1, 2026. Interested candiates can apply online from the official website - puthat.puchd.ac.in. The PUTHAT 2026 exam will be conducted on May 15, 2026 in offline mode at Chanidagarh centre. The PUTHAT Application form was earlier opened on November 27, 2025. The Panjab University Tourism and Hospitality Aptitude Test offers candidates an opportunity to sign up for their Bachelor's programs in Hotel Management and Catering Technology, and Bachelor of Tourism and Travel Management.  The applicants are advised to check the PUTHAT 2026 eligibility criteria before proceeding to fill out the online application.

    The Panjab University released the revised PUTHAT 2026 schedule at the official website - puchd.ac.in. The PUTHAT application form is now extended till May 1, 2026.

    The applicants will be able to download the PUTHAT admit card 2026 from May 12, 2026. The authorities will conduct the PUTHAT exam 2026 on May 15, 2026. The PUTHAT exam will be held for a duration of 1 hour 30 minutes. 

    The shortlisted candidates will have to appear for counselling as per the schedule that will be released officially. The seat allocation will be done based on the PUTHAT schedule and the candidates need to confirm their seat allotment by making the admission fee payment.

    Panjab University, Chandigarh conducts the Panjab University Tourism and Hospitality Aptitude Test (PUTHAT) for admissions to hospitality and tourism courses under the University Institute of Hotel and Tourism Management (UIHTM). PUTHAT is conducted once a year for admission into Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (BHMCT) and Bachelor of Tourism and Travel Management (BTTM). BHMCT is a four-year programme having 60 seats for Indian aspirants, 6 NRI seats and 15 foreign nationals seats. While in BTTM there are 30 seats for Indians, 3 NRI and 8 for foreign nationals seats.

    PUTHAT Panjab University Tourism & Hospitality Aptitude Test (session 2026)

    To appear for the PUTHAT entrance exam 2026, aspirants need to fill out and submit the online application form. The PUTHAT application form 2026 has been released by the authority. The PUTHAT registration form opened on November 27, 2025. The PUTHAT Application form 2026 will be closing on May 1, 2026 Candidates can refer to the divisions below to know the different dates for the Application process.

    PUTHAT Application Form Submission Phases

    • Availability of Prospectus and Application Form: The prospectus and application form were made available on the official website on November 27, 2025.
    • Last Date to Generate Login & Password: The final date for the submission of details necessary to generate the Login & Password is May 1, 2026. 
    • Last Date for Fee Deposit: The fee must be deposited through Online Mode by May 4, 2026.
    • Last Date for Information Upload: The deadline for uploading the photograph, specimen of signature, and the rest of the information on the website is May 6, 2026.
    • Candidates availing the concession fee under SC/ST/PwD or P.U.Class B/C Regular Employee must send a copy of the printout of their filled form along with the self-attested copy of the Category Certificate/Proforma for claiming 50% concession by registered post/speed post or by hand on or before May 7, 2026
    • Late Submission Date (If Fee Paid): Candidates who have paid the requisite fee but have not completed their form can complete it by May 13, 2026, by paying a late fee of Rs. 500. 

    Below are the steps provided for the candidates to complete the PUTHAT application process. 

    • Aspirants need to click on the 'Registration' link provided on the official website - puchd.ac.in, and fill in the registration details.
    • Candidates must provide all the required information correctly, as there will be no provision to add or rectify any information later. 
    • Once the registration process is completed, applicants will receive their login ID and password on their registered email IDs and mobile numbers. 
    • Candidates can pay the PUTHAT Application Fee 2026 online. 
    • Candidates need to make sure to upload the scanned photograph, signature, fill in other important information and then save and confirm the details. 

    Note: If more than 24 hours have passed after the PUTHAT Application Fee 2026 has been paid and the candidates' journal number is not confirmed, they need to write to puthat@pu.ac.in with a scanned copy of the bank slip.

    The authorities have released the PUTHAT eligibility criteria 2026 on the prospectus. The eligibility criteria of PUTHAT 2026 include certain conditions that aspirants have to meet to be eligible for admission. Candidates can check the PUTHAT 2026 eligibility criteria provided below: 

    • Candidates who have passed the 10+2 examination (up to 2025–26) from a recognized Board/University with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/BC/PwD) and English as a compulsory subject are eligible to appear for PUTHAT 2026.
    • Eligibility remains provisional at every stage of the admission process, and it is the candidate’s responsibility to ensure they meet all requirements; admission will be cancelled at any stage if found ineligible.

    PUTHAT Eligibility Criteria - Who are not eligible to apply?

    • Candidates completing their Class 12 from Mahila Gram Vidyapith, Allahabad are not eligible to apply for PUTHAT as this institution is not recognized by Panjab University, Chandigarh. 
    • In addition, the eligibility of candidates completing their Higher Secondary exam under Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi is subject to verification as per the PUTHAT eligibility criteria.

    PUTHAT 2026 Syllabus

    PUTHAT Panjab University Tourism & Hospitality Aptitude Test Syllabus

    Candidates who successfully submit the PUTHAT application form will be issued the admit card. The candidates will be communicated through email only to download the PUTHAT admit card 2026. The authorities will release the PUTHAT admit card online on May 12, 2026. Candidates need to use their login ID and password to download the PUTHAT 2026 admit card. 

    The PUTHAT 2026 admit card includes the name, allotted exam centre, exam date & time, important instructions, and more. Candidates need to retain the Admit Card for the counselling process as well.

    The steps to download the PUTHAT hall ticket are mentioned below.

    • Visit the official website of PUTHAT.
    • Click on the link PUTHAT admit card.
    • Enter the login ID and password.
    • The PUTHAT 2026 admit card will appear on the screen.
    • Check and download the PUTHAT admit card.
    • Take the printout of the PUTHAT 2026 admit card for further processing.

    Panjab University will release the PUTHAT 2026 answer key on May 15, 2026. Candidates will be able to submit their objections till May 17, 2026. The university will publish the responses to the objections on May 21, 2026. The deadline to submit cross objections to the PUTHAT answer key 2026 is May 23, 2026.

    The PUTHAT 2026 results will be declared in online mode on May 29, 2026. Candidates will be able to download their PUTHAT results 2026 from the official website - results.puexam.in. The login credentials are to be used to check and download the PUTHAT 2026 results. 

    The steps to check the PUTHAT 2026 results are as follows:

    • Visit the official website.
    • Click on the link ‘PUTHAT results’.
    • Login using the login credentials.
    • The PUTHAT results 2026 will be displayed on the screen.
    • The result will contain the score secured in the exam along with the rank.
    • Click on the download button. 
    • Candidates are advised to take a printout of the downloaded PUTHAT result scorecard for further admission process.

    Candidates who appear for the PUTHAT exam must meet the PUTHAT cutoff 2026 to qualify for admission. PUTHAT cutoff is the maximum and minimum marks required by the students to be scored in the exam to obtain admission. Candidates securing the minimum marks according to the PUTHAT 2026 cutoff will be included in the merit list released by the Punjab University. They will be eligible to attend the counselling process. The admission of the candidates clearing the PUTHAT cutoff will be according to the merit rank, however, there are a few conditions in the PUTHAT cutoff for marks as specified below.

    • Students admitted on General Category merit will not be counted under the reserved category seats.
    • Candidates from SC/ST/BC categories get a 5% relaxation in the minimum required marks, as long as they have at least the passing marks set by the regulations.
    • If SC/ST reserved seats remain vacant, the required marks may be further relaxed, filling seats strictly based on inter-se merit among SC/ST candidates themselves.

    The University authorities will release the counselling dates online at the official website - uihtm.puchd.ac.in. PUTHAT 2026 counselling will be conducted after the objections have been redressed with the answer key. PUTHAT counselling rounds will be conducted in April - May 2026 tentatively. Candidates who qualify for the entrance examination will be eligible to attend the PUTHAT counselling 2026. 

    Candidates must carry all the required documents while attending PUTHAT counselling. Candidates will be called for PUTHAT counselling according to the rank obtained in the merit list. Admission of candidates through PUTHAT counselling will be subject to the availability of seats and fulfilment of the eligibility criteria. PUTHAT Provisional Merit List Cum Admission list of all categories for BHMCT and BTTM programmes will be conducted as per the schedule that will be released on the official website.
