An Interview with Varsha Sain, a Bachelor’s in Hospitality Management Student at UEI Global Jaipur

Careers360 brings you an exclusive interview with Varsha Sain, a Bachelor’s in Hospitality Management student at UEI Global, Jaipur. In this interview, Varsha speaks about summer internships offered at UEI Global.

Careers360: Tell us something about yourself. (a bit of the background, like graduation, place and any such thing)

Varsha: My name is Varsha Sain and I am from Jaipur Rajasthan. I chose to pursue my higher education at UEI Global College, Jaipur. I have always been interested in hospitality and management, and this college gave me the perfect platform to turn my passion into a professional career. Currently, I am working at the top Hotel Holiday Inn Jaipur.

Careers360: Tell us something about your UEI Global campus and what made you choose it

Varsha: The UEI Global campus in Jaipur offers a great learning environment with modern infrastructure, experienced faculty, and regular industry exposure. The reason I chose UEI Global was because of its strong placement support, practical learning approach, and good reputation in the field of hospitality and business management. The college is also affiliated with recognised universities, which gave me confidence in the quality of education.

Careers360: What is the course you are pursuing at UEI Global and what made you choose this specialisation?

Varsha: I am pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management. I chose this specialisation because I enjoy interacting with people and working in dynamic environments. The hospitality industry offers endless opportunities, both in India and abroad, and UEI Global gives us practical exposure through regular training, workshops, and internships that prepare us for real-world challenges.

Careers360: Summer internship is mandatory in all UEI-Global campuses. Where did you pursue it and what was the duration? What were the steps to get into it?

Varsha: Yes, the summer internship (IT, OJT) is an essential part of our curriculum. I did my internship at Holiday Inn Jaipur, which lasted for 6 months. The process began with resume preparation, followed by interviews arranged by the college's placement cell. We received training sessions and mock interviews, which helped us feel confident during the actual selection process.

Careers360: Please give details on the assistance you received from the faculty, peers and placement office with regard to the internships?

Varsha: The faculty and placement team at UEI Global were very helpful throughout the internship process. They provided constant guidance, shared important tips, and prepared us through pre-placement training. Seniors and classmates also shared their experiences, which helped us understand what to expect and how to handle real-life work situations. The placement cell stayed in touch even during the internship to ensure we were doing well.

Careers360: How was your experience with the summer internships? What are the key takeaways that you can look back on from it?

Varsha: My internship experience was extremely valuable. I learned how to work in a professional environment, interact with guests, manage time effectively, and handle responsibilities confidently. It gave me a better understanding of the hospitality industry and helped improve my communication and teamwork skills. Most importantly, it gave me the confidence to step into the industry after completing my course.
