PUTHAT 2021: The University Institute of Hotel and Tourism Management will conduct Panjab University Tourism and Hospitality Aptitude Test (PUTHAT) in the second week of May 2021 in an offline mode. The examination city of the test will be Chandigarh only. PUTHAT 2021 application form will be released in the last week of March 2021. Candidates who wish to take admission in the courses of BHMCT and BTTM, offered by the Panjab University need to appear in the PUTHAT 2021. The admit card of PUTHAT 2021 will be released in the first week of May 2021. The result of PUTHAT is declared in the last week of May 2021. Candidates who clear the PUTHAT entrance exam will henceforth be called for counselling. The two courses offered by Panjab University are- Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (BHMCT) and Bachelor of Tourism and Travel Management (BTTM). BHMCT is a four year programme having 60 seats for Indian aspirants and 06 NRI seats. While in BTTM there are 30 seats for Indians and 03 NRI seats. PUTHAT 2021 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates applying for PUTHAT 2021must ensure that they fulfill the eligibility criteria of PUTHAT at every stage of the admission process. The PUTHAT eligibility criteria 2021 includes the qualifying examination,minimum percentage/CGPA scored and the board from which the candidate has passed his examinations.
Eligibility criteria of PUTHAT
Candidates must have passed or are appearing in the 10+2 examination.
Class 10+2 must have been passed by Central Board of Secondary Education(CBSE),New Delhi or its equivalent Examination conducted by a recognized Board/University/Council
Candidates must have not less than 50% marks (45% in case of SC/ST/BC/PwD categories) in the aggregate with English as one of the compulsory subjects
Who is ineligible to apply?
The candidates who have passed or will appear in 10+2 Examinations of Mahila Gram Vidyapith, Allahabad, will not be allowed to apply for PUTHAT 2021 owing to its derecognition by Panjab University, Chandigarh.
The examination which is conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Delhi, is not included in the booklet of recognised exams.

The application form of PUTHAT 2021 will be released on the official website in March 2021 in online mode. Candidates applying must ensure they have the requisite documents before filling the PUTHAT 2021 application form. The step by step process to be followed is given below:

Step 1 - Registration

In case one belongs to special category section, they will have to answer the following questions:
Are you or either of your parents class B/Class C regular employees of Panjab University? (Y/N)
Enter Panjab University regular employee PF number.
Press the 'Submit' button. Candidates will be redirected to a new page wherein they have to note down their application number, login ID and password. The login ID and password will be sent to their registered email ID and mobile number
Step 2 - Login
Login using your credentials i.e. mail id and password. After that applicants will be redirected to a page wherein they have to fill the remaining details, such as:

PUTHAT Exam Centres 2021
PUTHAT 2021 exam centre is the city or place where the entrance test will be held. PUTHAT exam will be conducted by the authorities concerned only in Chandigarh. The exact address of the PUTHAT exam centre 2021 where the student must report will be mentioned on the admit card.
PUTHAT 2021 Admit Card
The admit card for PUTHAT 2021 will be issued to only those candidates who have successfully registered and made the fee payment for the exam. PUTHAT admit card 2021 will be released in the first week of May, 15 days prior to the commencement of the exam. Candidates must note that the admit card won't be sent by the authorities either through post or courier. The steps to download the admit card are mentioned below:

PUTHAT Exam Pattern 2021
According to the PUTHAT exam pattern 2021, the entrance test will be conducted in pen and paper based mode consisting of 100 questions. One mark is allotted for each question and 0.25 marks is deducted for every incorrect answer. The duration of the exam is 90 minutes.

A candidate shall be included in a particular merit list on the basis of attainment of a minimum cutoff required. Candidates securing equal marks will be bracketed together.Their inter se merit will be determined by the UIHTM as per Panjab University norms. The authorities will release the result of PUTHAT 2021 in online mode in the last week of May. The university will also release a merit list based on the marks secured by candidates in the exam. In order to clear the entrance test, students have to secure the minimum cutoff marks in the test. The students who qualify will be called for the counselling.
