Established in the year 2004, Indian Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM), Kolkata is a co-ed standalone institution. The institute is accredited by Sikkim Skill University, South Sikkim. Answer: The institute has been functioning for the past 20 years offering Bachelors and Masters degree courses in Hotel, Hospital, Hospitality & Culinary Art management. The aim of the college since its inception has been to groom students for suitable placement in the sectors catering to the abovementioned courses. Entrances are held only till the results are awaited.

Careers360: There is a lot of stress that is being made with regard to interaction with the industry as well as companies that recruit. What are the steps being taken by the institute in this direction?

Answer: The institute tries to complete placement of students before the completion of the tenure of the specified course. The on job training recruitment and selection starts much before the completion of the course and this culminates in placement of selected students. The campus recruitment drive starts after the 5th semester for the Bachelors degree students and after the 3rd semester for the Master degree and Diploma students, resulting in guaranteed placement within the span of the course.
