ITC WelcomLEAD Training Programme: WelocomLead is the training programme offered by ITC hotels to hospitality students for hospitality education in India. WelcomLEAD is a three year undergraduate programme that develops young professionals to deliver exceptional hospitality service. Candidates who have passed their class 10+2 examination from a recognized board or equivalent are eligible to apply in this 36 months duration programme.The programme, wholly financed by ITC Limited -Hotels Division offers a good stipend to students and has a structured academic as well as on the job training curriculum. The program is conducted at all ITC prefixed hotels (ITC Hotels). The candidate becomes a graduate in Bachelor of Arts (Tourism Studies) (BTS) from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) apart from getting the WelcomLEAD Certification & experience from ITC Hotels. ITC WelcomLEAD is a 36 months comprehensive hospitality programme to get students enroll themselves into a good position in ITC hotels. The ITC training courses of WelcomLEAD is open to students who are interested in the food and beverage service and front office positions. The entire cost of the training is borne by ITC hotels. The students are divided into a number of batches where they get practical training at ITC hotels along with an opportunity to enroll for Bachelor of Arts (Tourism Studies) (BTS) from IGNOU. The departments designated to each trainee requires their physical presence five days a week. One day of the week will be designated for self-study and theory sessions for the completion of IGNOU assignments, preparation for examinations and evaluations. Candidates who enroll in ITC WelcomLEAD training programme are entitled to receive a monthly scholarship and a degree from a recognised university.
The eligibility criteria of welcomlead programme mentions the academic qualifications, the lower and upper age limit and other factors candidates need to meet in order to apply for the training programme at ITC hotels. The eligibility criteria is as follows:
Candidates must have passed class 10+2 or must be appearing in the final examination of the respective class from a recognized board and council.
Candidates must have a minimum aggregate mark of 60 per cent in class X as well as class XII.
No compartment or failure in any subjects and with a minimum 60% in English in Class 10th
Candidates must be above 18 years and below 20 years as on 1st July of the year of commencement of the programme
Candidates will be selected on the basis of interview and test.
Both male and female candidates can apply for ITC training programmes
The required skills that candidates must have are:
Good demeanor and an outgoing nature
Affable and warm
Command over English language with a good diction and accent
Pleasing personality with proportionate height and weight
High level of general awareness and basic knowledge of computers
