Careers360: Tell us something about yourself, such as where you are from.
Krishna: Hi, my name is Krishna, and I’m from Agra, the city famous for the Taj Mahal. I’ve always had a keen interest in hospitality and customer service, which motivated me to join UEI Global to pursue a course in Hotel Management.
Careers360: Which course are you currently pursuing and in which year?
Krishna: I have recently enrolled in the B.Voc in Tourism and Hospitality Management program at UEI Global, Agra. I am currently in my first year.
Careers360: Did you face any challenges during the initial months at the institute?
Krishna: Yes, initially, there was a brief adjustment period. Coming from a commerce background, it took some time to adapt to practical sessions and hospitality-related subjects. However, with the guidance of supportive faculty and regular interaction, I now feel more comfortable and truly enjoy the learning process.
Careers360: What kind of activities does the institute offer? Are there any clubs for extracurricular involvement? Which ones are you part of?
Krishna: The institute offers a wide range of activities including guest lectures, food festivals, personality development workshops, and themed hospitality events like the UEI Chef Competition and our cultural and sports fest, Le Vitesse.
Careers360: Describe a typical day at your institute—from the time you wake up to when you go to sleep.
Krishna: My day usually starts at 6:30 AM. After getting ready and having breakfast, I reach the campus before 9 AM. We attend both theory and practical classes until around 3 PM. Post classes, I revise lessons, interact with peers, and sometimes attend mentor meetings or practice sessions. Evenings are for relaxation, chatting with friends, or watching something light, and I usually wind down by 10:30 PM.
Careers360: How is the faculty-student ratio, and what’s the relationship like between teachers and students?
Krishna: The faculty-student ratio is quite student-friendly, allowing for personalized attention. The teachers are approachable, always ready to clear doubts, and provide career guidance. Even as a new student, I feel comfortable communicating with them.
Careers360: What facilities are available on campus? What do you find unique or different here?
Krishna: The campus is well-equipped with specialized labs for front office operations, advanced training kitchens, housekeeping, F&B service labs, a computer lab, and a library. What stands out is the practical, hands-on approach to learning. Every theory session is linked with real-world application, which I find extremely valuable.
Careers360: How are the hostel facilities in terms of comfort and cleanliness?
Krishna: I am a day scholar and don’t stay in the hostel, but I have visited the facility. From what I’ve observed and heard from hostelites, the rooms are clean, well-maintained, and equipped with essential amenities, providing a comfortable living space.
Careers360: What about medical facilities? Can students access emergency medical support if needed?
Krishna: Yes, the institute provides basic medical support and is located close to several reputed hospitals. It has tie-ups with nearby clinics and hospitals. In case of emergencies, prompt assistance is available and students are well taken care of.
Careers360: How do you manage your studies, projects, exams, and extracurricular activities?
Krishna: Being in the early phase, I’m still learning to balance everything, but I’ve started developing a routine. I revise lessons daily, plan ahead for assignments and events, and manage my time efficiently. The structured schedule at the institute helps a lot.
Careers360: Tell us about the clubs and societies on campus. How important are they for students?
Krishna: The clubs and societies play a crucial role in enhancing student life. They help us apply classroom knowledge in creative ways, build leadership and team skills, and encourage personal growth. Even as a newcomer, I see how these platforms bring students together and add value beyond academics.
Careers360: Is there an in-house magazine or newsletter for updates on campus events and achievements?
Krishna: Yes, the institute regularly updates its social media handles and also publishes a monthly online e-magazine called SOPHOS. It features event highlights, student achievements, and upcoming activities, helping everyone stay connected and informed.
Careers360: What are the popular student hangout spots on campus and nearby?
Krishna: On campus, the library and student common areas are popular for casual gatherings and discussions. Outside campus, places like the Taj Mahal and Red Fort are favorite spots, along with local cafes, food joints, and shopping areas—creating a perfect blend of learning and leisure.
Careers360: How do you usually spend your leisure time on campus?
Krishna: In my free time, I enjoy chatting with friends, reading hospitality magazines in the library, or participating in yoga and educational movie sessions. Sometimes, I simply relax and listen to music to recharge.
Careers360: Does your campus have a social media presence or student blog for sharing experiences?
Krishna: Yes, UEI Global has official Facebook and Instagram pages where students share event updates, achievements, and personal experiences. It’s a great way to stay engaged and for prospective students to get a glimpse of campus life.
