TARANG, the annual cultural festival of Lady Shri Ram College is one of the most eagerly awaited college festivals of Delhi University. It is an excellent platform to showcase student talent  in a variety of  activities ranging from Music, Dance, Dramatics, Debating, Fine Arts, Films, Photography and other areas of art and culture bringing together talented students from colleges across India making it one of the largest youth festivals of the country. TARANG usually commences in February. Entry is by pass only and participants can register at the gate and obtain entry.

Last year TARANG was a unique experience as the college festival was dedicated to commemorate Rabindranath Tagore’s 150th Birth Anniversary as the theme was the Life and Works of Rabindranath Tagore and a Tagore exhibition was held on all 3 days of the fest. TARANG was truly an excellent amalgamation of academics and extracurricular activities. Aside from the college festival, each department at LSR hosts its own academic festival every year. This provides students with a forum to interact with eminent personalities in their own fields, as well as participate in competitions ranging from debates to paper presentations.

TARANG promises three days of fun, frolic and quality entertainment. With a wide variety of food stalls encompassing different cuisines from around the world. From high end outlets like Cocoberry, Yo! China and Slice of Italy to yummy pocket friendly options of street food like momos, chaat, chuski and candy floss available to remind you of those good old carnival days. The game stalls proved to be value for money as they promised exciting prizes and a whole lot of fun.

TARANG brightens up the campus and the beautiful campus seems to be buzzing with fun activities spanning from street plays to indoor plays and different genre music and dance performances. The quality of entertainment is reflected by the never ending queues which just seem to get longer as time passes by. One has a huge range of diverse options to choose from in terms of participation as well as entertainment. Treasure hunt is usually one of the most awaited challenges as it gives you an opportunity to team up with your friends and explore the campus. Stand-up Comedy act by Abish Mathew and Raghav Mandava were one of the highlights of the fest last year.

TARANG promises to be an unforgettable event with competitions in the field of dramatics, dance, film and photography, music, debating and creative writing, and informal offbeat events and memorable entertainment in the form of rock show, the rib tickling Stand-up Comedy show, the DJ Night and the Food Fest add to the fun quotient of the fest.

LSR gives a lot of importance to eco-friendly measures and encourages students to inculcate a feeling of caring for nature within themselves and others. There are competitions like ‘fun with junk’ initiated by the environment society of LSR, Prakriti. LSR will also be conducting a full energy audit of the fest and strive to make itself as green as possible.

So make sure you manage passes on time, cut down on your spending and save time as TARANG is surely not an event to be missed. Visit, participate and witness the unforgettable magic
