The exam conducting authority NCHMCT has released the tentative strength of vacant seats accounting up to 3109 at several central, state and private institutes of hotel management after it concluded second round of NCHMJEE 2014 counselling on June 30, 2014.

National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology (NCHMCT) has declared the institute-wise vacant seats in the form of a comprehensive list and has also notified that the said strength may increase as the seat withdrawal process by candidates is still under progress.
According to the NCHM JEE notification a total of 1865 and 356 seats under open and backward category respectively have been declared vacant. Highest number of total vacant seats was recorded for IHM Hajipur, followed by IHM Srinagar while IHM Chandigarh showed lowest number of total vacant seats.
The authority further added that final list of vacant seats will be declared on July 7, 2014. The final list will provide the exact number of vacant seats to be available in last round of NCHM JEE Counselling, which is commonly known as SPOT round.

Spot round seat allotment is scheduled to start on July 10, 2014 to offer admission to candidates who remained absent in earlier seat allotment rounds or candidates allotted with seat but not reported at admission centre.
The entrance exam was conducted on April 26, 2014 to admission for B.Sc. Hospitality & Hotel Administration courses on 7920 seats across 21 central government IHMs, 16 state government IHMs and 14 private hotel management institutes. The written exam was registered by 21,600 applicants and as many as 19000 candidates appeared for the exam.
