About NCHM JEE 2019

NCHM JEE is a national level exam conducted once a year by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to undergraduate courses in hospitality. Earlier it was conducted by National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology(NCHMT). Students could fill NCHM JEE online application form from January 15 to March 25, 2019. Earlier, the last date to fill the application form was March 15, which was extended later. The exam was conducted on computer based mode on April 27, 2019. The answer key was released on May 3, 2019 and the last date to challenge was May 5, 2019. Candidates who appeared for NCHM JEE 2019 can take admission in two undergraduate courses - B.Sc. in Hospitality & Hotel Administration(Generic or Specialization). NCHMT, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Tourism, regulates admission to professional courses that are offered at the affiliated 21 Central Institutes of Hotel Management, 20 Private Institutes of Hotel Management, 21 State Government Institutes of Hotel Management and a Public Sector Undertaking.

It is the sole responsibility of the candidate to check his/her eligibility for NCHM JEE 2019:

  • Qualifying Examination - Pass in Senior Secondary Examination (10+2) or its equivalent with English as a subject of study (core/elective/functional). Qualifying examination should be conducted by any recognised central or state board such as Central Board of Secondary Education and Council for Indian School Certificate. Qualifying examination could also be from any board or university in India or foreign country recognized by the Association of Indian Universities. Candidates who will appear for the qualifying exam in 2019 can also apply under provisional basis.
  • Age Limit - For students applying under General and OBC categories, the upper age limit is 25 years as on the year of the admission. In the case of scheduled caste and scheduled tribe, the upper age limit is 28 years as on the year of admission. Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board Certificate shall be used to determine the age of the candidate.

Mode of Application : Online

The application form for NCHM JEE 2019 was available from January 15  and the last date for submission of form was extended from March 15 to 25, 2019. Also, the payment of fees through debit and credit card was extended from March 16 to 26, 2019. Candidates must fill the online form and pay a registration fee of Rs 800 (General and OBC) and Rs 400 for SC/ST/PwD/Transgender. 

  • Details filled by the candidate like his/her name, father and mother's name, date of birth should match the one in the documents furnished by him/her. 
  • If no category is selected by the candidate, quota will apply. Category once selected by the candidate cannot be changed. If a student belongs to two categories, he/she should check both of the boxes.
  • If the student has not given the qualifying exam, he/she should check the 'APPEARING' box
  • Candidate should upload an unattested recent photograph of himself/herself with a white background. Students should remember that all the information provided by them will be verified during counselling.

NCHM JEE 2019 is a written examination of 3 hours which can be given in Hindi or English. NCHM JEE 2019 consists of 200 multiple choice questions in the below subjects:

                                                                                                                                                                    Each correct answer under 1,2,3 and 4 subject carries four marks while for every incorrect answer 1 mark will be deducted. 

Candidates who had filled the application form could download the Admit card of NCHM JEE 2019 from NCHMTC website from April 3, 2019. Admit card of NCHM JEE 2019 was not sent through the post. One copy of self-attested NCHM admit card should be deposited with the invigilator for his/her signature and furnished during the counselling. A second copy of NCHM admit card must be presented during the written examination. All the details of the NCHM card must be verified by the student and discrepancy, if any, should be immediately brought to the notice of JEE Cell by emailing at [email protected]

The National Testing Agency  released the answer key NCHMCT JEE 2019 on May 3. Candidates could challenge the NCHM JEE 2019 answer key till May 5 (11:50 p.m).  Candidates had to provide adequate proof and pay the processing fee of Rs 1000 per question that they would challenge.The answer key of NCHM JEE 2019 contains the responses of the questions that was asked in the entrance exam. It also indicates the marks that are awarded for every right answer and are deducted for every wrong answer.

Candidates who appeared for NCHM JEE 2019 could check the result of the written examination on the NCHMTC website. The result of NCHM JEE 2019 was declared on May 14, 2019. Qualified candidates can check the score obtained by visiting the council's website, clicking on the 'Result' tab and entering login credentials like roll number, application number, date of birth and security pin.

Selection of the candidate will be based on his/her rank i.e. marks scored by the candidate in the NCHM JEE 2019 compared to other candidates in the same category. Cut off for each category of NCHM 2019, which is opening and closing ranks for participating institutes is announced by NTA on their website. Candidates can check previous year cut off to get an idea about the closing ranks for each participating college.

Mode of Counselling: Online, Offline

Three rounds of counselling will be conducted by the National Testing Agency for NCHM JEE 2019. NTA has allocated All India Ranks to the qualifying candidates based on the marks scored in the written examination. The counselling process of NCHME JEE 2019 started from May 27 2019 and is done on merit basis i.e. rank of the candidate in his/her category.  Candidates had to  register online by paying a non-refundable fee of Rs 1000 and filled their choices of colleges for the first two rounds. On the day of counselling, candidate got the opportunity to opt for a college available to him/her according to his/her rank and pay the tuition fee for the first semester. Eligibility of the candidate along with the documents furnished by him/her will also be checked. Seats in the participating college will be offered on the basis of student's AIR, category, choice of the institute and availability of seat in those institutes.
