PUTHAT 2019 - Panjab University released PUTHAT admit card which is an important document in online mode on April 30, 2019. Earlier, the release date for the admit card was April 16, which was extended later. Panjab University Tourism and Hospitality Aptitude Test (PUTHAT) was conducted in offline mode on May 10, 2019 (11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.). The result was declared on May 27, 2019. Students will be offered admission based on the merit they secure in the entrance test. The qualified candidates in PUTHAT entrance test are called to participate in the counselling process.The authorities closed the registration for PUTHAT 2019 on April 18. The authorities extended the registration process for PUTHAT 2019 from April 4 to 18. The authorities also extended the date to deposit the fee in any branch of State Bank of India from April 8 to 22, 2019. PUTHAT is an university level entrance exam conducted for admission to Bachelor’s of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (BHMCT) and Bachelor’s of Tourism and Travel Management (BTTM), which are four years programmes. Candidates seeking admission to these courses had to apply for PUTHAT 2019. The application form for the entrance test was available from March 5, 2019 onwards.

Only those who obtain the minimum cutoff marks set by university can attend the counselling process. The authority will probably conduct two rounds of counselling, depending on the availability of seats. The qualified candidates had to download and submit the admission form on the official website on May 30, 2019. The also had to upload the copy of the original following certificates - date of birth, qualifying examination and applicable category certificate by June 27, 2019. Students also had to carry the original documents on the day of counselling, along with the requisite fee.
The PUTHAT cutoff is the minimum marks candidates need to obtain to qualify the test, which is specified the university. The cutoff for 2019 is not yet announced, it will be updated in this article once the authority declares it. Candidates, however, can refer to the previous year’s cuttoff and accordingly set their preparation level.
Other category candidates
The authority declared the result of PUTHAT in online mode on May 27, 2019. The university also released a merit list based on the marks secured by candidates in PUTHAT. To get through the entrance test, students have to secure the minimum cutoff marks in the test. The qualified students will be invited for the counselling. Candidates can download PUTHAT result online only as there will be separate result cards issued to students by the authority. The steps to check the result is given below:

If a candidate is not satisfied with the result and expect that the score could be higher than mentioned on the result, in such a case, facility for verification of result is available. To verify the result, students were provided a photocopy of the answer-sheet on payment of Rs. 10,000 within 10 days after the announcement of the result. The authority verifies the result of PUTHAT within three working days. In case there was any discrepancy in candidate’s result , it was accordingly revised and the fee deposited was refunded. Students should note that there should not be any re-evaluation of answer-sheets under any circumstances.
After the completion of the entrance test, the authority released the answer key along with the question paper in online mode. The answer key was available in pdf format. With the help of the answer key, students could cross- check their answers, assess their performance by calculating their probable scores.
The university also facilitates students with an option for filing an objection in PUTHAT answer key. Students can raise their objections regarding the discrepancies through email only. The objections raised by students reviewed by the experts, post which a final answer key was released.
The admit card of PUTHAT was issued to only those candidates who successfully registered for the entrance exam. The admit card of PUTHAT was available only in online mode on April 30, 2019. The authorities did not send the admit card to candidates through post or courier. The steps to download the admit card is given below:

Students who appear for PUTHAT should know the exam pattern of PUTHAT as it will give them idea about the total numbers of questions asked, exam duration and marking scheme. According to PUTHAT exam pattern, the entrance test is conducted in pen and paper based mode, which consists of 100 questions. One mark is allotted for each question and 0.25 marks is deducted for every wrong response. The exam duration is 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Candidates who are applying for the entrance test should ensure that they fulfill the eligibility criteria of PUTHAT. Candidates are redirected to a new page wherein applicants have to note down their application number, login ID and password. The login ID and password is sent to their registered email ID and mobile number. In addition, they also get the option to download the fee challan, which they have to download and take the printout of it. Next, candidates have to deposit the fee at any branch of State Bank of India, immediately one day after printing of fee challan.
